A Note about Acupuncture

Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is a system of healing which has been practised in Asia for thousands of years. Oriental Medicine has its origin in ancient Taoist philosophy which views a person as an energy system in which body and mind are unified, each influencing and balancing the other. This therapy emphasizes a holistic approach which means the treatment focuses on the whole person, not just a specific symptom one may be experiencing. Oriental Medicine uses acupuncture, along with herbal therapy, tuina (acu-pressure) massage and nutrition as the key tools to wellness. Many people have found Oriental Medical methods of healing to be excellent tools for maintaining optimal health and preventing illness.

According to Oriental Medical philosophy, our health depends on the body's motivating energy - known as Qi (pronounced "chee") - moving in a smooth and balanced way throughout the body and its' series of meridians (energetic pathways) . In getting an acupuncture session, the insertion of fine needles into the channels of energy, can stimulate the body's own healing response and help restore its' natural balance.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic Acupuncture is a healthy and natural option for cosmetic improvements currently available at Prive Spa. Cosmetic Acupuncture is the "true anti-aging medicine". Though the procedure is not well known or publicized in North America, it has been used for centuries in China. We are involved in a the educational campaign that will teach people that Cosmetic Acupuncture is a non-invasive procedure that brings about some amazing results that are more than just skin deep.

The obvious benefits include having softer, firmer skin, a better complexion and skin tone, reduction of redness and blemishes, reduction of deeper wrinkles and elimination of finer wrinkles, and improvement in jowl lines. Although not visually as dramatic as a surgical procedure, Cosmetic Acupuncture actually has a much more dramatic overall effect.
